ACCREDITATION TEAM INVITES PUBLIC COMMENTS ABOUT THE
MARGATE POLICE DEPARTMENT
A team of assessors from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) will arrive on April 22, 2014, to examine all aspects of the Margate Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The Margate Police Department is tasked with complying and maintaining approximately 260 standards in order to receive reaccredited status. Many of the standards are critical to life, health and safety issues.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency members and the general public are invited to offer comments to the assessment team. A copy of the standards is available through the Police Department’sPublic Information Officer at 954-935-5409.

Lieutenant Michael Palma is the Accreditation Program Manager for theMargate Police Department. The assessment team is composed of law enforcement practitioners from model agencies. The assessors will review written materials; interview individuals; and visit offices and other places where compliance standards can be witnessed. The CFA Assessment Team Leader is Major Ron Cave from the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Other team members are Lieutenant Don Carbonaro from the Altamonte Springs Police Department and Phil Horning from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
