MARGATE, FL – (April 30, 2014) – The City of Margate will honor our country’s fallen soldiers by hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 26th at 9:00 a.m., at Veteran’s Memorial Park , located at 7044 N.W. 1st Street (S.E. corner of Rock Island Road and N.W. 1st Street).
Everyone is invited to attend and pay tribute to our country’s men and women who have fallen in the line of duty – citizens of this great nation who gave their lives to preserve the liberties upon which America was founded.
The ceremony will include the marching of color guard units, the singing of the National Anthem, a keynote speaker from the United States Southern Command, invocation prayer, a presentation of awards to our elementary school essay contest winners, live band, rifle salute, taps, and complimentary refreshments.
Flag Etiquette Reminder: On Memorial Day the flag should be flown at half-staff from sunrise until noon.
