MARGATE, FL – (July 29, 2014) The City of Margate is hosting its 3rd Annual Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Event. This event provides Margate residents with a convenient opportunity to properly dispose of household hazardous waste and old electronics they may have in their homes. The event will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Oriole Park (7055 NW 1st Street) from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. All items accepted will be recycled or disposed of properly.
Items accepted at the collection event include household chemicals, cleaning solutions, aerosols, paint, oil, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, vehicle fluids, mercury thermometers, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, fluorescent bulbs, compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs), TVs, computers, monitors, printers, fax machines, cell phones, home phones, wire, DVD players, rechargeable batteries, and tires (limit 4).
Items not accepted include explosives, flares, ammunition, bio-hazardous waste, medical waste, appliances, microwaves, shavers, sewing machines, and business or commercial generated waste.
Proof of Margate residency is required.
