MARGATE - Join the Margate Basketball League; open to residents and non-residents from 6 through 16 years old. Practices will start in December while games begin in January. Games are normally scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Registration will be held at Firefighters Park, 2500 Rock Island Road in Margate. Registration is in-person only so the child can be measured for a uniform. As part of our registration process, we ask each participant to bring one can of food as a donation to those in need in our community. A parent or guardian must accompany the child to sign a required code of ethics form. Please also bring the child's birth certificate (if first time in this league) and Margate residents must bring two forms of proof of residency (driver's license, utility bill, mortgage bill, etc.). No late registration will be taken this year.
• Parent/guardian signature is required for registration
• 2 proofs of Margate residency is required (Examples: driver’s license, utility bill, etc.)
• Birth certificate is required, if this is your child’s first season in the league
• Your child will be measured for proper jersey size
Special Note: Shorts will NOT be provided for any player.
Only full payments shall be accepted in the form of cash or check
All teams are organized by the following age groups:
|Mini Division: Ages 6-8
||Sophomore Division: Ages 11-13
|Freshmen Division: Ages 9-10
||Junior Division: Ages 14-16
This is presently a co-ed league.

Basketball Coaches Needed for Margate Basketball League
The Margate Parks & Recreation Department is seeking volunteer coaches and assistant coaches for its Margate Basketball League. The league is for resident and non-resident children from 6 to 16 years old. There are four age divisions.
Individuals who are interested in coaching must be available for practices in December. Games will be from 6 to 9 p.m. starting at end of January at Firefighters Park, 2500 Rock Island Road in Margate. No experience is necessary (a coaching clinic is provided), but you must be 21 years old or older and must pass a background check.
