Fleet Maintenance is an internal service division within the Public Works Department. It staffs 9 personnel; 5 auto/truck technicians, 1 small engine mechanic, 1 parts/inventory control person, 1 garage support person and 1 fleet administrator/garage coordinator. It provides scheduled maintenance and repair services for the city’s fleet of vehicle’s (375), off road and construction equipment (17), small engine equipment (lawn mowers, chainsaws, road saws, pole saws, pressure cleaners, generators, pumps, water crafts etc.). The division also tracks fuel (acquisition, distribution, usage) as well as vehicles and equipment. It maintains the city’s inventory of automotive, truck and equipment parts/supplies, aides in vehicle/equipment replacement and acquisition, employs ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) and EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) personnel.
