“Our Margate” is a free app and is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play for immediate use. Just search for “Our Margate”.
With this tool, residents can report and track issues, contact City officials, and learn about City news and upcoming City-sponsored events all through a smartphone application. The City launched the app in partnership with PublicStuff, an innovative civic engagement platform that helps residents and local governments connect to improve their communities. Here's how it works for residents:
• Do you have concerns that you would like to report directly and quickly to Margate?
• Now you can submit these issues through a downloadable mobile app.
• The relevant City staff responds to the issues through their backend workflow management suite. The City keeps residents in the loop with regular status updates and comments on the submitted requests.
To help the City reach out to its residents, the app features One Voice Translation to support 17 languages. When a resident submits a request in their native language, the request is automatically translated into English for the City officials. Any subsequent updates on the request are automatically translated back into the resident’s native language.
