2012 Summer Recreation Program

The City of Margate Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce the return of our Summer Recreation Program. Our Summer Recreation Program is for Margate children ages 6 through 12. Children must be entering first grade or be 6 years old before the first day of camp and cannot be 13 years old before August 3rd. The 2012 Summer Recreation Program begins Monday June 11th and ends Friday August 3rd. The program hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm. The cost of our eight-week program is $640 per child. Field trips are included in the price of the program; children are to bring their own lunch. Space is limited to 200 children and is filled on a first come, first serve basis.


For Mail-In registration, we require completed registration forms, Fun Zones choices, copies of two current proofs of Margate residency, a copy of child(ren)'s birth certificate and payment in full. Registration forms can be downloaded from www.margatefl.com. Registration is based on a First-Come First-Serve Basis, it is open until full. Mail registration forms to City of Margate 6199 NW 10 Street, Margate, FL 33063. Checks are to be payable to The City of Margate.


Upon our receipt of your completed registration form and payment, we will mail you a confirmation letter, your child's zone schedule, and receipt of payment no later than June 1, 2012.

Located within Royal Palm Park, the Caribbean-themed aquatic facility features a plunge pool with open and closed slides; a zero-entry pool with an aquatic playground; water sprayers, and water-tipping coconut palms; a regular lap pool; concession sales; complimentary shade umbrellas and lounge chairs; a party room rental; and- of course- seasonal group and individual swim lessons.

This center was opened to the residents of Margate
in October, 1989. It features multi-purpose rooms
which are available for group meetings, classes and other events.
These rooms may also be rented for private parties.


ZUMBA
Latin- inspired cardio workout dance class. Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the Zumba participants to dance away their stress and worries. No experience needed, please wear sneakers. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30PM to 7:30PM, Saturdays from 10:30AM to 11:30AM. $3 trial class is available! YOGA
Yoga classes are for beginner through intermediate levels.
Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 PM to 8 PM.
