General information:

The Margate Parks and Recreation Department offers many recreation programs for all age levels. Please join us throughout the year for the following events and be sure to check the website frequently for new and updated event information.

 

Katz/Weisinger Center

This center was opened to the residents of Margate
in October, 1989. It features multi-purpose rooms
which are available for group meetings, classes and other events.
These rooms may also be rented for private parties.

ZUMBA

Zumba is a latin-inspired cardio workout dance class. Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the Zumba participants to dance away their stress and worries.

No experience needed, please wear sneakers. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30PM to 7:30PM, and Saturdays from 10:30AM to 11:30AM.

$3 trial class available. Single classes are $6. Pre-paid classes are ten classes $45 or monthly $44. For additional information call Jorge Matallana, Certified Zumba Instructor, 954-461-6740.

YOGA

Yoga classes are for beginner through intermediate levels.

Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 PM to 8 PM.

The cost is $42 for six classes and registration is just prior to the class at the community center.

FOLK DANCE

Classes are held on Saturday from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.

GYNMASTICS / CHEERLEADING

New gymnastic/cheerleading COMBINED classes will be offered.
Scheduled TBD. Classes held at the Leonard Weisinger Community
Center. Learn music warm ups, tumbling techniques,
floor combinations and more.


The cost for each 4 week session is $35.
