About Environmental & Engineering Services
The Department of Environmental and Engineering Services (DEES) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the City’s utilities division (water and wastewater systems), engineering division, and the solid waste and recycling program.

Engineering Division
The Engineering Division is responsible for design review, permitting, construction inspection of site development activities, managing the City’s Utility Capital Improvement Program (CIP), the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), City’s Geographical Information System (GIS), coordinating the City’s participation in the National Flood Insurance Program and developing and implementing the Environmental Sustainability programs, within the City of Margate.

Solid Waste & Recycling
The City of Margate has awarded an exclusive franchise to Republic Services for the collection of residential curbside garbage and recycling, commercial garbage, and multi-family recycling.

Utilities Division
The City of Margate owns and operates the water and wastewater treatment systems which serve all residents and businesses located within the City's geographical boundary, as well as a portion of the City of Coconut Creek.
