A Message From Fire Chief Roberto Lorenzo
On behalf of the Cities of Margate and Coconut Creek, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit our website. The Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Rescue Department proudly serves the citizens and visitors of our great city as well as the city of Coconut Creek.
As the Fire Chief for these fine cities, it is my privilege and honor to work with and lead all the great men and women of our department in our noble calling. The members of our department take great pride in providing a multitude of emergency services, public education and prevention techniques to the residents and visitors of our cities. Each and every member of our department is committed to protecting the health and property of the citizens we serve. Our daily focus and our commitment to you as well as each other are evident in our organization's core values of: Duty, Honor, Compassion, Excellence. Our vision, as well as our expectation, is to provide the best emergency service and fire protection in the country.
On September 27, 2012, the City of Margate was formally advised that based on recent visits, interviews, and data submission, The City of Margate is being reclassified from an ISO (Insurance Services Office) Class III to a Class I, effective January 1, 2013. Based on data supplied by the ISO, the City of Margate will be one of ten municipalities in Florida to earn this top classification, and in the top 1% in the country! Attaining a Class 1 rating places the City in the enviable position of being one of only 10 in the State of Florida and 61 across the country. ISO is responsible to rate 48,000 fire rescue departments in this country and the City of Margate rated 1, the highest rating!
This is certainly a City-wide accomplishment and could not have been achieved without the support of the Mayor, City Commission, City Manager, department heads and all staff. A great example of the City's and Fire Rescue's commitment to excellence and providing outstanding cost effective service to our constituents!
