Major Kriplean has been a law enforcement officer for the Margate Police Department since 2000. During his tenure with the department, he has held the positions of Patrol Officer, Bicycle Officer, K-9 Officer, Master Patrol Officer, Traffic Homicide Investigator, Detective, Field Training Officer, training instructor, and Special Response Team (SRT) Member. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2015 and assigned to patrol. In 2017, Major Kriplean served as the sergeant of the Criminal Investigations Unit until his promotion to Lieutenant in 2019, where he was assigned as a Road Patrol Platoon Commander, K-9 Unit Supervisor and SRT Commander. He was promoted to the rank of Major in May of 2022. Major Kriplean is the currently the Commander of the Investigative Services Division which oversees the Criminal Investigations Unit, SRT, K-9, Professional Standards, hiring and Road Patrol Platoons III and IV.
