CITY OF MARGATE AND WASTE MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCE ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
$2,500 Scholarship Available to Two Margate Residents
MARGATE, FL (March 12, 2021) – The City of Margate, in partnership with Waste Management, presents the 10th Annual Margate Academic Scholarship Program for students who live within the City limits. This scholarship honors one male and one female student for their academic excellence.
The Margate Academic Scholarship Program was created in 2012 to foster the educational opportunities for Margate students and encourage them to pursue paths that support government and civic endeavors. Graduating high school or college-enrolled students who are interested in applying for this one-time $2,500 scholarship, should download, complete and submit the scholarship application no later than Thursday, May 6th at 6 p.m. to the Margate Parks and Recreation Department at 6199 NW 10th Street. Eligibility Requirements:
1. Current Margate resident
2. Core weighted GPA of 3.50 (minimum)
3. Community Service (minimum 40 hours)
4. Education or professional path of government or non-profit service
Award Criteria - including but not limited to:
1. Community Service
2. Personal Essay (no more than 600 words)
3. Weighted GPA
4. Financial Need
