Deadline to Complete the Census is Today!

Have you Been Counted? The Deadline is TODAY!

Thank you, Margate residents! Because of your actions, the City recently surpassed the 2010 Census Response Rate. So many families are still uncounted though, and we need EVERYONE to complete the Census so that the City can get its fair share of millions of dollars in federal funding for critical services.

Today, September 30th, is the deadline to increase our response rate. Please don't delay! Complete the Census TODAY! Go to my2020census.gov or call (844) 330-2020.

Voter Registration Deadline is October 5th

The Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office reminds everyone about the following important deadlines related to the November 3 General Election:

October 5 is the last day to register to vote in the General Election on November 3;
October 24 is the last day to request a mail-in ballot for the General Election on November 3.

Early Voting for the November 3 General Election will take place from October 19 - November 1 from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. daily. For a list of early voting locations, visit here.

Voting on Election Day, November 3, will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, visit the Supervisor of Elections Office website at www.browardsoe.org.

Ride Free Around Town

Have someplace to go but don’t have a ride? Catch the Margate Inner-City Transit, a FREE and convenient community bus service that will take you where you want to go or very close to it. Sponsored by Broward County and the City of Margate, buses run Monday to Friday from 7:20 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There are three routes that will take you to destinations along the City’s main corridors. Emergency Rent and Utility Assistance

Are you having trouble paying your rent? Need assistance with utility bills? The Family Success Administration Division received the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funds through the Broward County Housing Finance and Community Redevelopment Division to provide financial assistance to Broward County residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to help pay rent, homeowners association, utilities and/or related late fees. Year-round Irrigation Restrictions are Mandatory in Broward County

In general, NO watering of lawns and landscapes is allowed on Monday, Tuesday, and Fridays. Residences and businesses with an odd-numbered street address may water lawns and landscapes on Wednesdays and/or Saturdays, only before 10:00 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m.

Residences and businesses with an even-numbered street address, no street address, or those who irrigate both even and odd addresses within the same zones, which may include multi-family units and homeowners’ associations, may water lawns and landscapes on Thursdays and/or Sundays, only before 10:00 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m.

Residences and businesses that use reclaimed water for irrigation are allowed to water any day only before 10 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m. Special exceptions may also apply if using a smart irrigation controller with soil moisture sensor for more than 50% of a zone.
