Apply for Margate Citizens Academy

Margate residents are invited to participate in Margate Citizens Academy (MCA), an eight-week interactive program designed to help residents get an up-close look at local government. The program is free and open to Margate residents and business owners over 18 years of age. Applications are now available for the next session, which begins on Tuesday, May 8th. Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection & Document Shredding Event on April 28th

The City of Margate, in partnership with Waste Management, is offering residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste (HHW) and old electronics, and shred documents that include sensitive information.
 
The Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection and Document Shredding Event will take place on Saturday, April 28th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oriole Park, located at 7055 NW 1st Street.
  
Margate residents may bring up to three standard letter size boxes of documents for secure document shredding.
 
Proof of Margate residency is required. This includes a photo ID and one of the following (with matching address): a utility bill, vehicle registration, or a trim notice/tax bill.

Free Tree Giveaway on April 28th

In celebration of Earth Month, the City of Margate Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a Free Tree Giveaway for Margate residents only on Saturday, April 28th from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., while supplies last. The Tree Giveaway will take place at Oriole Park, located at 7055 NW 1st Street.

 

Over 350 trees will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each household will receive ONE TREE per residential address. Please bring a photo ID and proof of Margate residency. For more information, please visit margatefl.com, call (954) 972-6458 or email parksrec@margatefl.com.
