City Seeking Students to Lead Pledge

The City of Margate is looking for students to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of each City Commission Meeting. This is a great opportunity to help children build confidence in public speaking. Students from private or public schools, who either live in Margate or attend a Margate school, are eligible to lead the Pledge. Pledge leaders are recognized by elected officials and receive an "I Led the Pledge" t-shirt. Margate Citizens Academy

Margate residents are invited to attend the Margate Citizens Academy (MCA), a free eight-week interactive program designed to help residents get an up-close look at local government. Classes take place once per week at various City facilities.

The goal of MCA is to help residents become more knowledgeable, engaged citizens. The information and resources provided will enable them to have an increased understanding of the City’s organizational structure and the operations of the various City departments that impact the quality of life in Margate.
MCA is sponsored by the City Commission and coordinated by the City Manager’s Office.

Are you a senior citizen or know a senior citizen who would benefit from learning about email scams, phishing, IRS Scams and all types of online fraud? The Margate Police Department is hosting an informational presentation on scams that target senior citizens. Don't be a victim! Educate and protect yourself from scams.
