Memorial Day Ceremony on May 28th

Join the City of Margate for one of its most popular events, the annual Memorial Day Ceremony. City officials, residents and members of the Armed Forces will come together on Monday, May 28th at 9 a.m. to honor the men and women who have paid the ultimate price for our country.

The Ceremony will take place at Veterans Memorial Park, which is located at 7044 N.W. 1st Street (S.E. corner of Rock Island Road and N.W. 1st Street). For more information, go to margatefl.com.

This Heart of Flags, which is located at the corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7, is a symbol of the City's love and support for our soldiers who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom and also the victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.
 
Election Information

Election Filing Dates for Office Of City Commission

On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the City of Margate will hold a General Election for the purpose of electing to office:
 
TWO (2) CITY COMMISSIONERS – SEAT #3 and SEAT #5
 
Each seat is for a four-year term.
 
In order to qualify as a candidate for the aforesaid offices, individuals must file their intent to seek election by filing the necessary qualification forms and paying the required fees with the City Clerk within the following qualifying dates.
 
FILING/QUALIFYING DATES
Starts at NOON on Monday, June 18, 2018
 
Ends at NOON on Friday, June 22, 2018

Groove and Green Kicks Off Sunday

Join us Sunday, May 27th for the kick-off of Groove + Green, Margate’s newest addition to our family-friendly activities. Scheduled bi-monthly, Groove + Green will take place the second and fourth Sunday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7.
