Temporary Change of Water Treatment Process

Important Notice to Water Customers

To maintain high water quality in the City's water distribution system, the City of Margate Water Treatment Plant will change its treatment process temporarily to increase the level of free chlorine disinfection from July 31st through August 30th. This proactive measure prevents bacterial growth in the water mains and keeps the water safe for potable uses. Consumers may experience an unusual chlorine taste or odor in the tap water during this period, but these temporary conditions should not cause adverse health effects. If you need more information about this temporary change in the treatment process, please contact the City of Margate, Department of Environmental and Engineering Services (DEES), at (954) 972-0828.
