City Hall and Admin Offices Closed in Observance of Labor Day

Please be advised that Margate City Hall and the administrative offices of Development Services, Public Works, Utilities, Engineering, Building, Police, Fire, and Parks and Recreation departments, will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2018 in observance of Labor Day.

City Seeks Pledge Leaders

Would you like your child to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at a City Commission Meeting? The Margate City Commission is looking for elementary, middle or high school students who either live in or attend a school in Margate to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Commission Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month, and  at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month at City Hall.

Pledge leaders will receive an "I Led the Pledge" t-shirt and a City pin from the Mayor, plus public speaking experience and recognition by the City.

If you are interested in having your child participate, please contact the City Clerk's Office at (954) 972-6454 or by email at cityclerk@margatefl.com. Pledge of Allegiance spots are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dive-In Movie Night on September 8th

Dive-In Movie Set for Sept. 8th

The City of Margate will host Dive-In Movie Night on Saturday, September 8th at Calypso Cove Aquatic Center, located at 6200 Royal Palm Boulevard. The feature presentation, “Inside Out” (Rated PG), will begin at 7:15 p.m. and moviegoers can splash around while enjoying the film.

Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available for purchase. Admission for residents is $2/person ages 4 and older, $1 for children 3 and under.

About the Movie
In the movie, emotions run wild in the mind of a young girl who is uprooted from her peaceful life in the Midwest and forced to move to San Francisco. Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness each have their own ideas about how she should handle her new surroundings.

Shoe Donation for Voices for Children of Broward County

Voices for Children of Broward County Shoe Donation

The City of Margate is supporting the Voices for Children of Broward County Shoe Donation Drive to help fund programs that provide opportunities for abused, neglected, and abandoned children to not only survive but thrive.

Please drop off your gently used, wearable shoes at Margate City Hall, located at 5790 Margate Boulevard, now through October 19th. The donation box is located in the first floor lobby.

We are collecting:
• Shoes of any size and gender (kids, women, men, boots, heels, sneakers,
sandals, etc.)
• New shoes
• Gently used, wearable shoes
