Drop Off Your HHW, Old Electronics; Shred Documents on Saturday

This Saturday! The Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection and Document Shredding Event is set for Saturday, September 22nd from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oriole Park, located at 7055 NW 1st Street.

This event is a great opportunity for City of Margate residents to safely and conveniently dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste (HHW) and old electronics, and shred documents that include sensitive information.

Basketball League Registration

Basketball League Registration Begins Oct. 1st 

Mark your calendar! Registration for the City of Margate’s Basketball League begins on October 1st, and we are ready for the “hoop”-la! The basketball league is co-ed and open to residents and non-residents from ages six to 16. Registration will take place from October 1st through November 1st, or until filled, at Firefighters Park, 2500 Rock Island Road.

Movies in the Park

Movies in the Park Kicks Off Oct. 6th

The City of Margate Parks and Recreation Department will kick off its 2018-2019 Movies in the Parks series on Saturday, October 6th with Sherlock Gnomes. The movie will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Margate Sports Complex, 1695 Banks Road. 

When a string of garden decor starts going missing, Gnomeo and Juliet ask Sherlock Gnomes to take the case. This colorful crew of lawn ornaments must traverse London to save their fellow decorations from being smashed.


Upcoming Movies in the Park are as follows: 
• November 17th: Peter Rabbit
• December 1st: Paddington 2
• January 26th: Incredibles 2
• February 23rd: Hotel Transylvania 3 Summer Vacation

Movies in the Park features free outdoor movie screenings for the entire family. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.
