Movies in the Park Begins on Saturday, October 6

Family Fun at Movies in the Park on Saturday, Oct. 6th

The City of Margate Parks and Recreation Department kicks off the 2018-2019 Movies in the Park series on Saturday, October 6th with the blockbuster movie, Sherlock Gnomes (Rated PG). The movie will begin at 7 p.m. at the Margate Sports Complex, 1695 Banks Road.

Movies in the Park features free outdoor movie screenings. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Sounds at Sundown

Sounds at Sundown on Oct. 6th

The City of Margate's 21st Annual Sounds at Sundown concert series kicks off this Saturday, October 6th with the popular Rockabilly band, Slip and the Spinouts. Sounds at Sundown takes place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7. Join us for live music, food trucks, and so much fun. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and be ready to dance the night away underneath the starry sky. For more information, go to margatefl.com.

Election Day is November 6th

Be Ready to Vote on November 6th

The 2018 Election season is underway, and voting is one of the most fundamental ways for citizens to have a voice in government. Be sure to prepare yourself before casting your ballot.

In addition to voting in the General Election on Tuesday, November 6th, Margate voters will consider four referendum questions. To review the ballot questions, please go to margatefl.com/ElectionInformation.

As a reminder, October 9th is the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming election. For up-to-date election information and to register, please visit the Broward County Supervisor of Elections website.

Mac and Cheese Dinner and Demo

Mac and Cheese Charity Event Set for Oct. 20th

Come out on Saturday, October 20th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for our Build Your Own Mac-N-Cheese dinner, hosted by the Margate Fire Department Benevolent Association. The fundraiser to benefit the Woman's Breast & Heart Initiative will be held at the Charles and Carol Katz Community Center, located at 6111 NW 10th Street. 

Chefs for this event will be the men and women of the Margate-Coconut Creek Fire Department. Kids will enjoy activities, games and fire trucks and equipment will be on display.

For a minimum $5 donation, attendees will get a bowl of Mac-n-Cheese. Desserts will also be available for a donation.
