Movies in the Park on February 23rd

The City’s Movies in the Park series will continue on Saturday, February 23rd with “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.” The movie will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Margate Sports Complex, 1695 Banks Road. 

In the movie, the monster family embarks on a vacation on a luxury monster cruise ship so Drac can take a summer vacation from providing everyone else's vacation at the hotel, and they indulge in all of the shipboard fun the cruise has to offer. 

Movies in the Park features free outdoor movie screenings for the entire family.

Moviegoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.

Challenger Baseball Opening Day on February 24th

Play ball! Challenger Baseball Opening Day is Sunday, February 24th at the Margate Sports Complex, 1695 Banks Road. The first pitch will be thrown out at 2 p.m. followed by the first game with the League’s youngest players.

Challenger Baseball provides children and young adults with disabilities the opportunity to play America’s favorite pastime – baseball. This adaptive baseball program is open to all Broward County special needs children from 5 to 25 years old.

In addition to baseball, League players will enjoy visits with special guests Billy the Marlin and Spiderman, and police and fire personnel. Free icees will be available, and children will be able to climb aboard a Margate-Coconut Creek fire truck. As an added bonus, the City’s new splash pad at the Sports Complex will be open for the first time on Opening Day.

Groove + Green on Sunday, Feb. 24th

Groove + Green on February 24th

Groove and Green is back this Sunday, February 24th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7. Stop by for a farmer's market, food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, live music and brunch.

Groove and Green is a bi-monthly, family-friendly event series that offers the best deals around. Shop small and local for delicious produce, unfiltered honey, freshly baked bread and so much more. Have brunch beneath a large lounge canopy or picnic style on the lawn. Guests can also enjoy sparkling mimosas, fresh juice, and other beverages!

Waterway Clean Up on March 2nd

Volunteers Needed for Waterway Cleanup on March 2nd

Volunteers are needed for the Broward County Waterway Cleanup that's coming to the City of Margate's Veterans Park on Saturday, March 2nd. The Cleanup event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and volunteers will be provided with garbage bags, gloves, a t-shirt and tickets to trash bash after-party event.

The Broward County Waterway Cleanup is organized by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida to help ensure that both the community as a whole and the marine industry could enjoy our local waterways. This year is the first time the Cleanup is being held in Margate. Volunteer service hours are available for participating students.
