Sounds at Sundown is April 6th

Mark your calendar and plan to come out for Sounds at Sundown on Saturday, April 6th. The Andrew Morris Band will be playing your favorite country music.

Sounds at Sundown is a monthly concert series that takes place on the first Saturday of the month from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the corner of Margate Boulevard and 441. Enjoy live music and food trucks serving up delicious snacks, meals and desserts. Arts and crafts vendors will also be selling their wares. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. HHW and Electronics Disposal Event April 13

Household Hazardous Waste, Electronics Collection & Document Shredding on April 13th

The City of Margate, in partnership with Waste Management, is offering residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste (HHW) and old electronics, and shred documents that include sensitive information. 

The Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection and Document Shredding Event will take place on Saturday, April 13th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oriole Park, located at 7055 NW 1st Street. 

City of Margate residents can drop off items such as household chemicals, cleaning solutions, aerosols, paint, oil, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, vehicle fluids, mercury thermometers, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, fluorescent bulbs, compact fluorescent bulbs, TVs, computers, monitors, printers, fax machines, cell phones, home phones, DVD players, rechargeable batteries, and tires (limit 4).

Items not accepted include explosives, bio-hazardous waste, medical waste, appliances, microwaves, and business or commercial generated waste.  

Secure document shredding will also be available. Margate residents may bring up to three standard letter size boxes of documents for shredding.

Proof of Margate residency is required.  This includes a photo ID and one of the following (with matching address): a utility bill, vehicle registration, or a trim notice/tax bill.

Springtime Egg Hunt April 13

Springtime Egg Hunt is April 13th

Get ready for the City of Margate’s annual Springtime Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 13th! The festivities begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Margate Sports Complex, 1695 Banks Road. ARRIVE EARLY! Thousands of eggs filled with fun prizes or delicious candy for children to enjoy will be scattered on three baseball fields and one area for special needs children. Some eggs will also contain a ticket redeemable for a special prize. Children eight years old and younger are invited to the Springtime Egg Hunt; there is no age restriction for those with special needs.
Children will be separated by age group for the egg hunt as follows:
Field #1: Ages 2 & Under
Field #2: Ages 3-5
Field #3: Ages 6-8
Field #3: Special Needs Area (located adjacent to Field 3)
Peter Rabbit will make a special guest appearance for family photographs. Please remember to bring your baskets and a camera. This event is free and open to the public.
