Join us this Saturday, April 20th, for a Pancake Breakfast to support our youth and Kiwanis International Service Projects. The breakfast will be held from 7:30-10:30 a.m. at Northwest Medical Center, 2801 N. State Road 7. For more information, please call (954) 993-2770.

Tree Giveaway on April 27th

In celebration of Earth Month, the City of Margate Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a Free Tree Giveaway for Margate residents only on Saturday, April 27th from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., while supplies last. The Tree Giveaway will take place at Oriole Park, located at 7055 NW 1st Street.

Over 350 trees will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each household will receive ONE TREE per residential address. Please bring a photo ID and proof of Margate residency.

Margate residents will choose from various types of trees. Each tree has a minimum height of 4ft – 6ft or size of 15 gallons, depending on the species.

Available Tree Species
Small Trees: Ligustrum, Silver Buttonwood
Medium Trees: Simpson’s Stopper, Golden Trumpet Tree, Crape Myrtle (color varies)
Large Trees: Gumbo Limbo, Live Oak, Magnolia
Citrus Trees: Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit

Each resident will be responsible for securing, transporting, and planting the tree. Every tree comes with an informational care and maintenance packet. The Tree Give-Away Program is funded by the City of Margate Parks and Recreation.

Florida Safety Fest on April 27th

Get ready, Margate! Mark your calendar and plan to attend the Florida Safety Fest on Saturday, April 27th at the corner of Margate Boulevard and State Road 7. This fun-filled event starts with a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the main event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with live safety demonstrations by fire and police personnel, hands-on activities, music, food and so much more.
