City Commission Meeting Tonight

After being on summer break, the City Commission will resume their commission meetings this evening (Wednesday, August 21st) beginning at 6:30 p.m. Join us at City Hall, 5790 Margate Boulevard, or watch the meeting live on Comcast Channel 78 or online at margatefl.com.

Pledge Leaders Needed

City Seeks Student Pledge Leaders

Would you like your child to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at a City Commission Meeting? The Margate City Commission is looking for elementary, middle or high school students who either live in or attend a school in Margate to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Commission Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month, and  at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month at City Hall.

If you are interested in having your child participate, please contact the City Clerk's Office at (954) 972-6454 or by email at cityclerk@margatefl.com. Pledge of Allegiance spots are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Archery Class

Learn How to Shoot a Bow and Arrow

On Friday, August 30th, join us for our August Open Shoot, where anyone can learn how to shoot a bow and arrow with confidence! Target shooting is a great way to end the day and we invite you to take your family and friends out for a unique experience at our local archery range, where the bulls-eye is plentiful!


All ages are welcome! All equipment provided!! No experience necessary!!!

The Open Shoot will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 30th at Andrew's Field (behind Margate Middle School, 730 NW 65th Avenue). $10/per person.

Martial Arts Program

Register for Martial Arts Class

The Margate Parks and Recreation Department has contracted with Barrett Hapkido to offer a new martial arts program for youth.

Sign up for Margate's Martial Arts Program now! Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Katz Community Center, 6111 NW 10th Street. Sessions for kids ages 5 to 10 are from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. for kids 11 to 16 years old. There is no contract or belt fees.

Hapkido is a non-sport, tactical mixed martial art that focuses on principles and reactive response.
