The City of Margate has contracted trash pick up. Trash set out at the curb will be picked up on regularly scheduled days. No burning of trash is allowed under City Code in Margate.

American flags may be brought to the city hall lobby for proper disposal. If the city hall lobby is closed, the PD information desk will accept them.

Absolutely. Fire stations are staffed 24 hours per day. You may stop in at any time during normal business hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The decision will be made by the paramedics rendering care to the patient. During the current conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, our members have been instructed to not allow anyone other than the patient into the rescue vehicle.
If you are in a moving vehicle, pull over to the closest curb. If you are stopped at a red light - do not run the light. Attempt to pull over to the closest curb so a clear lane of traffic can be opened up for emergency vehicles.

When a call is received at the emergency dispatch center, a Call Taker will gather the information while a Dispatcher simultaneously dispatches the call to the firefighters and / or paramedics. Please provide as much accurate information as possible and be patient with the call-taker. Do not hang up as additional information may be required.
The Margate Fire Department utilizes Advanced Life Support Engine(s), Ladder Truck(s) and Squad(s), which are dispatched simultaneously with the closest available Margate Fire Department rescue unit. All units are staffed with Firefighter/Paramedic. Members assigned to a fire vehicle can begin assessing the victim and expedite care prior to the arrival of our rescue unit.
