CAT Program
Combat Auto Theft (C.A.T. Program), is a statewide program, F.S.S. 316.008(6) where registered owners of vehicles can place this bright colored decal on the rear window of their vehicle. If a Law Enforcement Officer observes this vehicle occupied and/or being driven between the hours of 1:00am-5:00am, F.S.S. 316.008(6) gives the officer the right to conduct an investigation and make contact with the person currently in possession of the vehicle.

Fingerprinting
Fingerprinting services are available by appointment only, starting April 20th on Thursdays from 10am - 8pm. Cost for residents are $15 (must provide current proof of residency), non-residents $40. Fingerprint cards will be provided. Fingerprinting services are for employment only. We do not fingerprint for expungement, name changes, concealed weapons, immigration, or alcohol and tobacco. Please call 954-972-7111 to make an appointment.

Open and Empty Program
Our goal is to eliminate or reduce the risk that your property becomes a victim of burglary. In order to facilitate this program and evaluate its effectiveness, the Margate Police Department would like to track those businesses that voluntarily participate.

STARR Program
The Margate Police Department is continually working to provide a safe and secure environment for our community. However, it is important as well for YOU to understand and take the steps necessary to decrease the risk of becoming a victim. This has led to the creation of the MPD's STARR Program (Self Defense Tactics and Risk Reduction).
