Margate Basketball League

General Information

The Margate Youth Basketball League is an annual co-ed developmental, recreational program open to residents, and non-residents ages 5 to 16 years-old (must be five on or before October 1). Volunteer Coaches will work with your child to improve individual skills in dribbling, passing, shooting and team play. Participants will develop friendships, character, respect, and life lessons beyond the game all while achieving their desired basketball goals.

ALL participants must attend a one-day mandatory skills evaluation. Evaluation day should take about 45 minutes where we put the kids through different skills stations. This process will enable us to bring balance to the teams.

Over the course of the season, participants will play nine regular season games, and conclude with a single-elimination playoff tournament, and awards day. The league follows the Broward County Schools traditional school calendar for winter and spring break.

The league is broken up into four divisions:

Mini (ages 5-7 years old)Sophomores (ages 11-13 years old)
Freshman (ages 8-10 years old)Junior (ages 14-16 years old)

All Games and Practices held at Firefighters Park, 2500 Rock Island Road, Margate
