Water Restrictions

Conservation of water remains important as water levels throughout the region have continued to decline.

Broward County has adopted more stringent restrictions than South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The modified restrictions are as follows:

  • No watering of lawns and landscapes is allowed on Monday, Tuesday, or Friday.
  • Residences and businesses with odd-numbered street addresses may water lawns and landscapes on Wednesday and/or Saturday, only before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
  • Residences and businesses with even-numbered street addresses, no street address, or those who irrigate both even and odd addresses within the same zones, such as multi-family units and homeowners associations, may water lawns and landscapes on Thursday and/or Sunday, only before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
  • Residences and businesses that use reuse water for irrigation are allowed to water all days, except between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Special exceptions may also apply if using a smart irrigation soil moisture sensor controller.
