The Waste Wizard search tool allows residents to type in any keyword and get disposal tips. Not sure what items go into the recycling cart or the garbage cart? Waste Wizard will allow residents to easily search for how to properly dispose of hundreds of different materials including hazardous waste, bulk and yard waste.
The City of Margate has awarded an exclusive franchise to Republic Services for the collection of residential curbside garbage and recycling, commercial garbage, and multi-family recycling.
Republic Services provides online support through their website. Create an account to submit requests, compliments and complaints.
Residential customers consist of households that receive curbside collection of garbage.
Multi-Family Residential Customers
Rental apartment communities and owner-occupied multi-family communities that have opted to join the City’s exclusive franchise are provided garbage, recycling, and weekly bulk collection services through the City’s exclusive franchise. To establish, change, or discontinue collection services, multi-family residential customers should contact Republic Services directly at 954-583-1830.
Multi-family residential customers are to provide their residents with access to recycling. A minimum capacity of one 95-gallon recycling cart collected weekly shall be provided for every eight (8) units in the community. Equivalent dumpster capacity and/or more frequent collections may be used to provide the minimum capacity.

On August 27, 2021, the City of Margate City Commission awarded Solid Waste and Recycling Collection Services to Republic Services of Florida, Limited Partnership (Republic). Effective February 1, 2022, Republic replaced Waste Management as the exclusive franchise hauler within the City of Margate. How to Request a Garbage/Recycling Cart
Did you know you can get your garbage or recycling carts replaced?
If your garbage or recycling cart is damaged, missing, or in need of replacement, please email email@example.com or call Republic Services directly at 954-583-1830.
For your convenience:
• Garbage carts are available in 35, 65, or 95 gallons.
• Recycling carts are available in 35 or 65 gallons.
Please include your name, address, cart color(s), cart size(s), contact details, and reason for the request. There is no charge for your first replacement. There is also no charge if your cart is damaged during the collection process or has a manufacturer defect.
A replacement fee will be applied for any subsequently damaged carts where the damage is due to neglect, abuse, modification, or any other damage not covered under warranty.
