Comprehensive Plan
The Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act, S163.3167(2), F.S mandates that all local government jurisdictions prepare and adopt comprehensive plans. The City of Margate adopted its first comprehensive plan in 1989. Margate’s Comprehensive Plan involves public participation to define its community goals and aspirations.
Public policies are developed as a way to achieve the community’s objectives pertaining to the following elements:
- Capital improvements
- Conservation
- Future land use
- Housing
- Intergovernmental coordination
- Public school facilities
- Recreation and open space
- Traffic circulation
- Utilities
